Howdy! OPAS is a service organization dedicated to bringing the performing arts to the students of Texas A&M University and the residents of Brazos Valley. Each season OPAS presents professional productions on the stages of Rudder Theatre Complex.
We are eager to kick off our 50th season and to have new, enthusiastic additions to our student committee! Becoming a member of the OPAS student committee will allow you to become a part of a prestigious, professional organization. You will have the opportunity to interact with our patrons on performance nights by scanning tickets, ushering and handing out programs. Following your performance night duties, you can watch the performances for FREE! You will also create lasting friendships with a group of amazing people.
Members of the student committee are expected to attend:
• Bi-monthly committee meetings
• Publicity and Advertising events
• Fundraising events
• A committee retreat each semester
• Several performances per semester
• And many other fun, optional hang outs!!
OPAS also offers many leadership opportunities from committee member to manager and executive team duties. Student executives lead teams of managers in the areas of event planning, fundraising, recruiting, publicity & advertising, and student development.
Whether you are seeking friendship, leadership opportunities, interaction with the community, or just a wonderful organization to be a part of, OPAS is the organization for YOU!
We love being a part of OPAS’ mission to enlighten, entertain, and inspire by bringing world-class entertainment to the Brazos Valley, and we’re always looking for more enthusiastic volunteers to join the OPAS Student Committee. So, if you are a Texas A&M University student interested in a great leadership experience, building friendships and bringing professional performing arts to Texas A&M, email opas.recruitment@gmail.com.
