It has been more than ten years since the siblings appeared on an OPAS season. Since then, The 5 Browns have impressed audiences and critics across the globe, revealing a deep connection to the intent of their material, while bringing a fresh energy and dynamic character to the color and tonal spectrum of their sound. At this concert they will play a wide range of music from “Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saens to “Blackbird” by The Beatles to “Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin.

The 5 Browns – Desirae Brown, Deondra Brown, Stephen Beus, Gregory Brown, and Melody Brown– all attended The Juilliard School in New York. The quintet enjoyed its first wave of critical attention in February of 2002, when People Magazine dubbed them the “Fab Five” and they were featured on Oprah and 60 Minutes. They have since performed at the greatest concert halls from Carnegie Hall to Beijing’s National Center for the Performing Arts to Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle, and with major U.S. orchestras such as National Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and Chicago Symphony.

They have released eight albums that have collectively spent over 30 weeks at #1 on Billboard Magazine’s Classical Album Chart. New York Post has proclaimed: “Five pianos and 50 fingers add up to the biggest classical music sensation in years.” The quintet has garnered extensive coverage from media outlets ranging from The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, The Today Show, The View and many more.

Their music—and the siblings’ child advocacy work—are the subject of the award–winning documentary film, The 5 Browns: Digging Through the Darkness, which was chosen as a “Critic’s Pick” by The New York Times
